The Cabarrus Partnership for Children is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, established in 1998 to plan and administer Smart Start programs in Cabarrus County.
The mission of Cabarrus Partnership for Children is to ensure that services in health, early education, child care and family support are available and accessible so that children enter kindergarten healthy and prepared to succeed in school.
The Cabarrus Partnership for Children is committed to building and supporting programs within the community to ensure that children are a priority.
Why Cabarrus Partnership for Children?
Often times, Kindergarten is seen as the starting point of education for children. But learning happens long before the first day of school- it starts at birth.
The earliest years of childhood are essential. During this time, the brain is still developing and being shaped by everyday experiences. As our community watches children grow, it is everyone’s responsibility to make sure that ALL children have the experiences they need to flourish.
Investments in quality child care and early education positively impacts children long into their adulthood and therefore positively impacts families and society as a whole. In fact, research shows that young children whom participate in high quality early education experiences gain life-long benefits, including higher graduation rates, higher wages earned, as well as lower rates of reliance on public assistance, and lower rated of criminal activity.
The Cabarrus Partnership for Children collaborates with all the necessary people and agencies involved in a young child’s life- families, teachers, caregivers, doctors, and many others to ensure the success of all young children throughout Cabarrus County. Every child deserves a Smart Start!
